About Swami Vivekananda Development and Education Trust
The “Swami Vivekananda Development and Educational Trust” was founded in 2015 and officially registered under the Indian Trusts Act of 1882. It was established by a group of professionals including educators, engineers, scientists, and experts in health and environmental safety. The primary goal of the Trust is to uplift the rural population of West Bengal by providing essential services such as healthcare, education, vocational training, and support for entrepreneurship. Additionally, the Trust places a strong emphasis on empowering rural women.
Building upon these initial efforts, the Trust has taken its commitment a step further by establishing a specialized division known as the “Academy of Occupational Health & Safety (AOHS).” This division is dedicated to providing education and training in various fields including Human Resource Development (HRD), safety protocols, occupational health practices, environmental management, and security measures.
The Trust holds certifications for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, signifying its commitment to quality and occupational health standards. It is also registered with esteemed organizations such as NITI Aayog, MSME, and the Safety Council of India, further highlighting its reputable standing.
Additionally, AOHS has gained affiliation from IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) in the UK, enabling it to deliver courses that meet international standards and provide valuable knowledge in the field of occupational health and safety.

The utilitarian mission is to provide versatile and competent human resource for India and abroad. We emphasize the cultivation of enriched educational and training methodology that would help the youth to unleash their talent, creativity; leadership qualities immensely required for the betterment of the industry and the society as a whole. Honing talent and induce leadership qualities would be a part of our continuous process of overall development. We intend to foster all round development of a student along with management to cope with the complex; dynamic social-economic life and work culture in professional life.

SVDET has been functioning since 2001 and was formally registered under Indian Trusts Act, 1882 in 2015 by a group of well-meaning professionals, educationist and social workers.
Our mandate is “to provide for industry-focussed advanced training and instruction to promote the social, material and industrial welfare of India.” In keeping with the principle, the Trust is continuously striving to bring in new professional courses and training programmes for industrial and social benefit.
Since its inception, the trust through its wings has extended healthcare support, vocational training, industry-oriented high-end programmes to cater to the society in general and industry in particular. The trust has trained more than 5,600 students and teachers and industry personnel, and has been recognized as a Centre for Excellence by all stakeholders.
As we move forward to transform our vision into reality, we will create endless opportunities for our students in the years to come. I welcome you to join us in this exciting journey.
